Discount Programs Directory

Verified, year-round discounts for military, teachers, students, seniors, first responders and healthcare workers. Direct enrollment links + the verification platform each retailer uses.

How verification works (once, then reusable)

Most U.S. retailers use one of three platforms to verify eligibility:

  • ID.me — military, first responders, healthcare. Government-grade verification, ~3 minutes one-time setup.
  • SheerID — students, teachers, military. Document upload (school email, paystub, ID).
  • UNiDAYS / Student Beans — student-only. .edu email or current student ID.

Once verified, the credential works across hundreds of retailers — you don't re-prove yourself for every store.

Military Discounts

Active duty, veterans, dependents and Gold Star families.

Many major U.S. retailers offer 10–25% off for current and former service members and their families. Most run year-round, with deeper one-day promos around Memorial Day, July 4th and Veterans Day. Verification is usually via ID.me or SheerID — both free, take ~2 minutes, and the credential is reusable across retailers.

Senior Discounts

Age 50, 55, 60 or 65+ depending on the retailer.

Senior discounts are usually 5–15% but stack with other promotions and rarely require verification beyond an ID at checkout. Age cutoffs vary: AARP membership starts at 50; restaurants typically use 55 or 60; pharmacy discounts often use 65+. Asking is the only reliable way — many discounts aren't advertised online.

Tips for stacking discounts

  • Always ask in-store. Many senior, military and teacher discounts are unadvertised — they're applied at checkout if you ask. Bring ID.
  • Verify once, save many times. ID.me and SheerID credentials work across hundreds of retailers. One 3-minute setup unlocks ongoing savings.
  • Stack with cashback. Discount programs usually stack with credit-card cashback (Chase, Amex, Citi rotating categories) and shopping portals (Rakuten, Capital One Shopping).
  • Read the fine print on caps. Home Depot's military discount caps at $400/year; Apple's education varies by product. Big purchases benefit most from no-cap programs.
  • Re-verify when you change status. Move from active duty to veteran, undergrad to grad, or from K-12 to college? Update your platform — some discounts are status-specific.
